B Davis 1935 2 mi. S Payette between the Payette and Snake rivers, Payette co., Idaho. May 3. Our camp here is on the ranch of a Mr. Green where it was reported that ground squirrels and pocket gophers were abundant. A large marsh inhabited by muskrats and numerous marsh birds runs through his ranch and a large part of the ranch south of the marsh is given over to pasture land. He confirmed the report on squirrels and said they were abundant in the pasture and that he had killed over 200 this year by trapping and shooting.
