SE Murphy, Dewynee Co., Idaho, May 27, and found another Citellus leucodus in the same rat trap in which one had previously been caught. we made up skins until about 3:00 P.M. and then drove to Sinkers Creek, about two miles south of here, and let Aldrich off with gopher traps to trap in the alfalfa fields while Twining and I drove about two miles farther past the creek and hunted for Citellus leucodus at the place where we saw them on the 23rd. There is a colony there occupying an area of about 500 acres. They were very wary and I found the best way to get them close to sit quietly by a mound and wait for them to appear. This took about 15 minutes of waiting on the average. By this method I succeeded in shooting four of them, one old ? and 3 young - 1? and 2?? .
