We have been unable to take our old mole so far. Doubtless they are still out - not in hibernation. We found them active outside the burrows up to 6:00 P.M. The following birds were noted today: Raven, Linnet, Meadowlark, Magpie, Rough-winged Swallow, Horned Lark, Brewer Blackbird, Say Phoebe, Western Kingbird, English Sparrow, Sage Sparrow, Rock Wren. May 27. Quining and Aldrich looked at their 60 traps (30 each) that were set partly in Artemisia and partly in Bass Atriplex. Their net result was 1 Perognathus, 1 Citellus leucodax and a Spade-foot toad. I looked at the four rat traps and 4 stab sets for Citellus leucodax and found one in a rat trap. All traps (these last 8) were left set and looked at later in the day,
