W.B. Davis 1935 Hills 6 mi. W Murphy, Owyhee Co, Idaho, May 24. or any fresh sign. I hiked about four or five miles, Twining about seven and Aldrich three or four. Since there are apparently none here, we plan to leave tomorrow and go about 14 miles south of Murphy into higher country. There is very little here in the way of animal life. I saw three Lepus and one Sylvilagus and one Eutamias minimus today on my hike. Birds are rare save near the cabin where they have congregated near the only available water. There are plenty of Neotoma in the rocky ledges near here and last night and today we trapped out a family that was occupying this cabin. There were the old ♂, tho ♀ and 5 young, all of which were caught. Only the adults were saved. We have set out no traps save those in the cabin since we have been here. About half way between here and Murphy there seems to be a good place to trap for Sigus
