H.B. Davis 1935. Niles 6 mi. W Murphy, Cwyhee Co., Idaho. May 23, Sinker Creek, Rabbit Creek and Reynolds Creek. We were told that we might possibly find some at this locality though on the way out here and after getting here we saw no indication of their presence. We are camped at a cabin about half way between Murphy and Reynolds. There is a small spring and a party fenced in area that may have been cultivated. The road distance from Murphy is seven miles. May 24, I packed specimens this morning and put up a West. Warbling Vireo and a West. Lark Sparrow which I collected here this A.M. In the afternoon I took a circuit through the hills to see if I could locate any fresh signs of Citellus leucodon. This camp is near the type locality. Twining and Alrick did the same. Each of us found abundant indication that they have been in this area, but all the mounds are old and the burrow entrances are caved in or covered up. None of us found any squirrels)
