W.B. Davis 1935, Castle Creek, 8 mi. S Creana, Owyhee Co., Idaho. May 22. at all continuous in their distribution as one would expect from the great similarity of all the terrain. At Grand View we saw the horns and part of the skull of a Mountain Sheep that had come from the mountains near Silver City. There were also several mounted heads of Odocoileus hemionus that had come from the same area. I inquired at Grand View as to the status of Thormopus and was informed that they were abundant and a serious pest. We did not stop to trap because we were scheduled to be at Murphy by the 22nd. This would be an ideal place to trap on the two sides of the river, which at this place is about 150 yards wide, to test the effect of the river on speciation. I plan to trap the area on our trip back toward the east. About 7 miles west of Grand View we found a Lynx rufus skin tacked to the barn door of some rancher. He was not at home so we could get its history, but nevertheless Aldrich took a picture of it.
