Salmon Creek, 8 mi. W Rogerson, Irwin Dalls Co, Idaho, May 15. Bats and the Swallows, both of which forage in the same area but complementary to eachother, I was fortunate enough to bag two of the Myotis, one a volans interior - badly shot up - and a darker - larger one that is certainly not a volans. Both were feeding - at least flying in the same area, and thus it appears that there must be some inter- specific competition for I could detect no differences in feeding activities. Tonight, for the first time this trip, we heard Coyotes. There appeared to be two of them on the ridge east of camp. The keeper here reports that he believes they are quite common. Irving & Aldrich reported Broad-tailed Hammers, Calliope Hummers, Solomie Warbler, Accubow Warbler, Junco's, Water Ouzels from the Canyon, and Caspian Tern, California Gull, Common Loon, Lesser Scap, Red-breasted Mergancere from the reservoir.
