W.L. Davis 1935 Salmon Creek, 8 mi. W Rogerson, Jwin Falls Co., Idaho. May 13. Left Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif., May 11 at 1:10 P.M. in company with Elmes Aldrich and Howard Twining. Drove to Winnemucca, Nevada the first night, arriving there about 1:00 a.m.; a distance of 382 miles. Pulled off the road about 5 miles E of that town and slept. Heard a Mockingbird. We encountered heavy snow in the Sierras though the road was clear. About 6 miles east of Carlin we stopped at noon and ate lunch. While there we climbed to the top of some bluff that overlooked the Humboldt River and visited a Prairie Falcon's nest. It was in a natural cave and was reached by means of rope. Aldrich took a photo of the eggs (4) in situ and I collected the set which proved to have been incubated about ten days. Took a W-T Swift here and a Rock Wren. #1143. Drove on to this camp, arriving here about 7:00 P.M. Our present camp is at the north end of the Salmon Creek Reservoir.
