"Tales" March 16, 1981 I have been working on this book, but it's not the best of books. I was supposed to be doing other things. Here we are with the first draft of "The Great Gatsby" and all the rest of it. It needs a lot of work. I've spent so much time on this that I'm sure I've missed some important details. There are too many characters and not enough plot development. The story is just falling apart. However, there are also some good parts. The setting is well described and the dialogue is quite good. But it's hard to tell if these are worth saving or not. So, I decided to start over from scratch. I'll rewrite everything and see what happens. Maybe I can make something out of this mess. The problem is that I don't know where to start. I've tried starting with different characters and events, but nothing seems to work. It's like I'm stuck in a loop. But then I remembered something. I had an idea for a story about a man who finds himself in a strange world. Maybe I can use that as the basis for my new book. Let's see if it works. If not, I'll just have to keep trying until I find something that fits. I'm sure I'll make mistakes along the way, but at least I'll be making progress. And who knows? Maybe I'll even write a bestseller this time around.
