Drove to King City, where we obtained gasoline, and then N.W. on Highway 25 to the Pinnacles National Monument San Benito Co., Calif. Arriving around 6:20 p.m. Our primary motive for coming to this locality is to hunt for Xanthusia. There is one specimen in the MVZ collection taken by Cain (Bingston?) in 1935 (?) and this speci- men is far darker than vigilis according to Stebbins.
