KDixon 1951 Parus Apr. 15. Onion Creek 2 mi. S Delvale, Travis Co., Texas Gray overcast, calm. I reached this area (visited briefly with Edward Kincaid Apr. 8) at 8:45 a.m. There was a bend here where the stream had cut a high bank. Tall willows, cottonwoods, and other deciduous trees grew along the banks. At 9:05 I succeeded in getting a glimpse of a towmouse I had heard singing. The bird foraged in willow & did not sing while I watched it (I'm not sure it was a ?). Its crest was black & forehead white. It sang faintly -- -- before I approached the area and left -- -- later. I worked upstream to point where log lies across the creek where we saw a similar bird last Sunday. No t/mouse activity 9:05 - 9:25 - I was unable to see the towmouse downstream by 9:43 so I drove E. I noted towmice in/ulus along the road near the intersection 10:00 - 10:10.
