The bird seemed flycatcher-like in some of its habits & I considered its affinities might be muscicapid. crest long, erect, jet black cap black, limited by line through eye gray black lines back: Dusky or olivaceous Outer tail feathers may be white Belly: buffy on sides, fading to white in mid-line Under tail coverts about as in Brown Towhee (color & extent) Tail probably as back color at least above
