KDixon 1950 Balanosphyra f. Mch.4 Putah Creek, 1/2 mi. SE Davis, Yolo Co., Calif. partly cloudy; sun dim ; calm. I collected a lone woodpecker in streamside deciduous woodland (maple, walnut, valley oak) about 3:45 PM. Previously 2 Acorn-storing Woodpeckers seen in same area (one left as the other flew in to perch in same tree. [leaves had not yet in appearance on trees ; no catherine either]. Other birds in area : Audubon Warbler Scrub jay, Brewer Blackbird, Crow, Domestic Pigeon, Flicker.
