Lois Taylor also reported a similar impression of absence of this species. At this time of the year in 1947 and I believe also in 1948 Screech Owls could be heard or seen at dusk on the cornices of South Hall. I have not noted them there this year. Are the activities of gardeners and/or tree surgeons responsible in part? Nov. 20 Clear evening 8:15 heard Screech Owl calling from cypress-like trees N of plane tree grove to N of Campanile. Dec 20.
