Nov. 14 Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co., Calif. I was in canyon from 9:25 -- 11:00 am, proceeding as far as point where road crosses creek S of Botanic Garden. COLD; WIND up canyon for most part, up to 6 mph.; OVERCAST with sunshine intermittent; shower 10:47 - 11:00. See op acc't, Pains inornatus; other birds seen:

Dec 7. I set 5 traps around brush patch (myrtaceae) # on edge of Baccharis - Artemesia on E side of 2nd draw W lab.
at 7:15 - 7:30 am -- clear & pink sunrise. Area baited twice previously in last 3 days.
Returned 10:00 - 10:20 -- caught 1 each of Fox Sparrow, Spotted Towhee, Brown Towhee, Golden-crn. Sparrow (dm)
Returned 11:20 -- nothing in traps.
