Upslope S of main road (leading to Somerville) hillside (N-facing) covered with scattered live oaks and digger pines and brush (Baccharis, Artemesia, currant and a lupine) I saw Scrub-Jays here and collected a Tolmie Warbler and heard Plain Titmouse upslope. lower on slope I saw Say Phoebe, Rock Wren, Brown Towhee & Western Bluebird. (On road below Somerville, I saw flocked hark Sparrows and one Thrush) West of Nortonville on the Kircher pass road (± 1 mi N Clayton) we saw a Sparrow Hawk flying perhaps 3 feet above ground.
