Brush Rabbit near Spring - Jackrabbit at edge of thistle patch & grass "froze" at our approach with nose close to ground & ears laid back but fled at our approach. 1 spike buck deer seen.
Amer. Goldfinch abundant but House Finches scattered & few in numbers, perhaps 12-15 total seen.
We worked through draws N & S as well as one where spring is situated. Little surface water in evidence in comparison to last year; restricted to area about spring & that above watering trough. A small pool stood beside tank in gulch to d, fed by pipe from upslope.
