Amer. Goldfinch abundant but House Finches scattered & few in numbers, perhaps 12-15 total seen. We worked through draws N & S as well as one where spring is situated. Little surface water in evidence in comparison to last year; restricted to area about spring & that above watering trough. A small pool stood beside tank in gulch to d, fed by pipe from upslope. We left at 10:00.
