K Dixon 1950 Journal June 25. Robinson Cr., 7 mi SW Bridgeport, 6900 ft., Mono Co., Calif. Noted what may have been territorial squabble: chase of one ♀-plumaged Bullock Oriole by a similarly-plumaged bird. Total species list for area about camp. Poorwill Calliope(?) Hummingbird Hairy Woodpecker Wood Pewee Trail (?) Flycatcher Gray (?) Flycatcher Mtn. Chickadee House Wren Robin Warbling Vireo Brewer Blackbird Red-winged " Bullock Oriole Western Tanager Cassin Finch Yellow Warbler Song Sparrow ----- Cittellus lateralis, Eutamias, Citellus ______, Mustela vison, Myotis sp?, Peromyscus maniculatus, Microtus Bufo ______, Thamnophis, Rana We broke camp at 9:00 & drove to Bridgeport & then past Mono Lake to Lee Vining (11:00 am). Then up Lee Vining Canyon & over Tioga Pass. We noted Pike's cross road near (on E side of) Tioga Pass. We drove down into Yosemite Valley, warm & dry in mid-afternoon with Stellar Jay calls conspicuous. From there we drove to Merced, Modesto, Tracy, Byron Natl Spz & Oakland without unusual event.
