I hunted along a willow bordered brook with cottonwoods yet seen 12:20 - 12:35 - Took 6 or 6 rather of a pair, saw Kildeer Bullock Goose and took 2 Geese. Enroute to Mono Lake - we drove S through Gardnerville through Bridgeport (5:00 PM) to the Lake, arriving there about 6:00. here Anelosoma about 11 mi S SE Gardnerville Several miles N of Bridgeport we saw a flock of California Gulls in a flooded pasture along the road - Bailey tried to collect some but all rose from the ground outside shotgun range. They soared and circled and eventually flew S. We took again about one mile farther S. We moved in along the lake shore and I took one California Gull and Laet took 4 more. We drove S and camped at Big Spring Public Camp, 9 1/2 mi. S Mono Mills, Mono Co., Calif. We set up camp about sunset and shinned after that. Heard one Poorwill. May 30. Sunny, calm. Sal and I hunted in area 8:00 - 10:00 AM. Forest here chiefly Jeffrey Pine with Artemisia understory; the trees are taller than those at Bora. Elev somewhat under 8000 ft. This area has a stream running through it, headwaters of the Owens River system. Flicker, White-headed Woodpecker, Williamson Sapsucker Wood Pewee The only tyrannid; widespread over area. One seen diving on a ? Williamson Sapsucker.
