I entered via Canyon Rd. at 6:15, walked up path to S, then E on slope S of pool, along this path for 50 yards, then returned. leaving pool at 6:45 up Main road and road S of Botanic Garden to horse shoe bend at creek crossing at 8:00, returning to Stadium at 9:00. Oliver-sided Flycatcher - call ("hip three cheers") from N of Stadium Downy Woodpecker - drumming in vicinity of pool and telephone pole near Poultry Farm residence where seen April 7 Black Phoebe - 1 on wires near Vet. Science Bldg. Western Flycatcher - one bird in willows S of Botanic Garden giving 3-parted song "whip-peet-dick"; others elsewhere giving 2-syllabled peet (middle element of song) only. Busch-hit pairs only noted but no nests observed Robin - seen only between pool and Poultry Farm Swainson Thrush - generally quiet or gave single note one burst of song from slope S of alder-lined creek prior to 7 AM. Tolmie Warbler - one only noted - along creek S of Bot. Garden Yellow Warbler - 1 (full plumage) seen; chased by another bird, latter unseen but presumed to be Tolmie Warbler which drove yellow from tree in which Tolmie sang. Arboreal Goldfinch - heard in oaks American Goldfinch ♂ + ♀ seen individually in oaks bordering on creek where willow thicket occurs S of Botanic Garden - they stayed along this edge & did not penetrate woodland here.
