Scared up a junco from a Baccharis brush 10 feet from main brush patch where a skunk had been rooting the night before. Jan 30. Checked trap at 5:56 PM. No birds roosting in trees mentioned in paragraph above. Cloudy following shower at 5:00 PM. Jan 31. Clear, calm; frost + ice; slight haze of high clouds increasing. In area 8:40 - 10:15. See spec acc't Lophortyx, Aphelocoma Saw flock of Junco's foraging on dead flower heads of Baccharis while crowded Sparrows nearby foraged on ground.
