Song sweet sweet sweet repeated (3 or 4 phrases) for several minutes; then began general call notes - scoolding answer from nest then I flew out of cavity in elderberry and into Pittosporum (?) nearby. Both? flew into oaks to NE. The cavity behind cut off stub in elderberry is the same site used for nest by titmice in his territory during 1947 and 1948. Neither bird banded. Class inspected nest - Archie Mossman counted 7 eggs. Bird returned to nest by way of several perches in elderberry - carried clump of cottony substance; remained inside Noted pair of titmice active in alders along creek opposite Poultry Farm residence - ? sang from tree adjacent to alder snag where birds nested last year. K.H. Whew observed copulation, ? banded blue above aluminum on left leg - (? of same territory in 1948). Elderberry cavity 5 ft.
