ADixon 1949 Parus inornatus Jan.6 Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif. Clear day, slightly warmer after a cold spell but frost still on ground. Heard titmouse singing in campus area between College Ave and Piedmont Ave immediately south of Cowell Hospital. Song "sweet sweet sweet" Singer possibly the one which sang in November and early December about 100-150 yards to SE. Time of observation 8:30 AM (about 1 hour after sunrise). Lower campus, NW of Museum, 9:00 AM Heard Titmouse sing "sweet sweet sweet" song several times, mate responding with "sichadee" call. Jan 7. No calls nor song heard along Piedmont Ave. at 8:45 AM. At 12:00, bird was singing peter peter song in laurels opposite neat maple used in 1948. Jan 10. Heard song spewick spewick in area N of Bancroft Ave (same territory) a few minutes prior to 8 AM. Clear, cold (ice on ground). Jan 15. No song heard during past 2 mornings. At 4:45 PM heard sichadee dee calls from area in center of block bounded by Piedmont & College north of Bancroft. calls given persistently - Titmouse in feathery-topped acacia in vacant lot - fear calls given alternately whenever I moved in area beneath tree. I saw another bird present but did not definitely identify it as a second titmouse. Jan 16. Song heard south of Bancroft at intersection with Piedmont ave at 8:30 AM. I looked for answer to North
