Allen Hummingbird - δ diving; elsewhere ζ gathered within down 11:15 Berwick Wren - δ song in oak woodland (riverain border) American Goldfinch - singing along creek (willows) στβ pairs? Warbling Vireo - song & possible pairing - one bird followed a second closely into alder tree - one sang immediately and 2 stayed together. Pileated warbler - territorial defense in low willow thicket along stream. Plain Titmouse - see spec. acct. Arkansas Goldfinch - in pines at roadside; heard overhead. Purple Finch - in pines & oaks Steller Jay - in cool shaded bend upstream; tall alders "squeal call" given Rana aurora } Triturus torosus { along creek Glenkrustor coeruleus - one captured by Glaser as it emerged from creek. My impression was that territorial activity was intensified; Warbling Vireo, Amer. Goldfinch, Western Flycatcher, Titmouse, all singing vigorously throughout morning. S.
