KDixon 1947 Journal July 9. 2 mi E Shriver, 6500 ft., Carbon Co., Montana. yesterday. Returned to camp at 7:45 AM. Also noted in area today: Robin, Golden- crowned Kinglet, Pine Siskin, Crossbill, Flicker, Mountain Chickadee. July 10. En route from 2 mi E Shriver, 6500 ft., Carbon Co., Mont. clear sunny morning - heard Olive-sided Flycatcher up canyon. Broke camp about 8 AM, driving west through Shriver and Bowler to Bridger, Carbon Co. on U.S. Hwy . Noted Red-headed Woodpecker dead on road 4 miles N Fromberg, Carbon Co., Montana. Arrived at Billings at noon, leaving at 3:45 PM. Drove to Livingston arriving at 6:45 PM. July 11. En route from Livingston, Park Co., Montana. clear sunny day. Drove out of Livingston about 10:30 AM, proceeding south to Pray and driving b Mill Creek R.S. in Gallatin Nat. Forest. Returned to Pray and continued S to Hallatin and into Yellowstone National Park + lastly to Cooke, Park Co., Montana. Trudt broke about 2 mi NE Cooke and we established camp in area of broken timber, meadows and shrubby willows at 8500 ft. elevation. July 12. 2 mi NE Cooke, 8500 ft., Park Co., Montana. clear chilly morning; calm. Left camp at 7:00 AM walking up slope to
