Cedar Grove, S Fork Kings R., 4600 ft., Fresno Co, Calif. 25) A large alligator lizard found on a fallen cedar log about 5 ft. from the bank of the river, N.E. side. The noose on the lizard sticks were not large enough to go over his head, and only disturbed the lizard. An improvised noose made from the selvedge top of the sugar sack specimen bag was tied to the other end of the lizard stick, and used to secure the specimen, which was then under a ledge of rock about 2 feet from the water. May 31. Near Cedar Grove, S Fork Kings R., 4600 ft., Fresno Co, Calif. Found alligator lizard, about size of above specimen, dead on road. Its head was crushed and its tail broken in two places. Its feet were bright yellow in color. This flat alligator lizard was found in an area of tall fiddle oaks, small cedars, and pines, about 50 ft. from the edge of the river. 4:00 P.M.
