Papenfuss- M.A. Eudey collector) #118 - This specimen shows a strong, nervous, tail wagging reaction when sightened. At the least extreme, only the posterior fifth of the tail is waved. At more extreme provocation the entire tail is waved back and forth, [illegible] the waving is directed posteriorly along the tail , so that the tip stops last. The wagging is not the frantic type of Fanillo emsei but more that of an excited dog. Dorsum reddish brown,[1] becoming paler on tail [2]; laterally reddish [3],richer, with many blachish spots[4]; a yellowish[6] lateral and dorso- lateral stripe, the dorsolateral interrupted by blackish bars[7] which extend well onto the back, and are bordered with bluish[8] posteriorly; bars lighter, brownish [9] on tail; head and forelimbs blachish brown[10], spotted and barred with black, hind limbs redder[11],barred with darker[12]; a black shoulder patch. Beneath pale yellowish[13], chin, throat and laterally belly patches greener[14], much blackish[15] on throat + between belly patches, brownish[16] limb; tail oliveish [17], brownier posteriorly[18]
