Paul DeBenedictis 1960 Sept 5 Sceloporus grammicus microlepidotus Kilometer 86, Highway 196, NW Slope Mt. Popocatepetl, Mexico, Mex. (T. Papen füss-M.A. Papacatap Eudey collectors) #117. Smoot-veut. 43mm, tail 59mm. ♂. Dorsal coloration brown(1) becoming much lighter on tail(2), redder(4) laterally; a mottled pattern of blackish(3) and greenish(4) on sides, lower sides rusty(11); middosum with paired transverse dark brown(5) bars becoming bands, browner(6), on the tail, bands & bars about 1/2 interspaces on body & anterior part of tail; a small bluish(10) spot posterior to each podgy band; head grayish-chocolate(7), side of face and lips whitish-brown(8); head spotted and barred with darker brown(9). Beneath orangeish(3), especially on tail, tending to be grayer on belly, quite gray(14) on limbs; chin brown(2), gular region yellowish(12); a few bluish scales on each side of the throat; bluish(15a,b) belly patches, not 10n-confluen, and bordered with black internally; a black patch in groin and a black shoulder and lateral nape patch borderd with greenish(9); Iris yellower than(8); limbs gray brown(5), barred with darker(6); a very pretty lizard.
