Paul DeBenedictis 1961 April 16 April 16 west of Inverness, Marin Co., Calif. Rana aurora In a pool in a damp grassy meadow I got 2 Rana aurora. They were on the sides of the pool, part of a small stream moving through a ? boggy cow-pasture in pine-redwood forest. The pool was about 2 x 4 feet, 4 inches deep, and quite cold. The bottom was covered with about an inch of reddish algae, in which the frogs buried themselves. The frogs were considerably lighter (more olivaceous) than the substratum.
