Saw Band-tail Pigeon. Got some Polypores on Poplar logs. Stopped at the beach between Anchun Trinidad where the Hwy goes between a lake and the Ocean. Saw few birds but some good. Over the lake Os prey (turkey white hawk with white cheek patches). On the beach Western Greyl + a Brown Pelican by the surf, spurrows in the hogs. Greyls, Western Creeber, White-wing Scoter (? and other duck) in ocean Brown Pelicans, ducks in lagoons here way off shore. Several herons and an egret near Eureka. Took a side road thru. South Fork, McCann, to Garberville. Stopped in a marshy area and saw Rana Boyleii, 2 sp. of dragon flies (Plathemis, Symetrid) Later stopped at a small stream and took Rana Biglii + Dicamptodon. All state Parks fill so camped at a motel. Put 8 traps out. 5 species of birds seen Song Sparrow + Black Phoebe, Kingfishers, Killdeer and swallows along the ELL River. July 21 Garberville, Humbolt Co., Calif. Nothing in the traps.
