I got a Papilio, a zebra, and many other types here, and saw lots of sulfers and a few polydorus swallowtails. We also saw two huge white butterflies & that I called lysides (they were morphos). Gary went up one of the Iguana trees and got half dozen or so iguanae. After about 2 1/2 hours we went on to the Hotel and moved in. About 3 we left, with Rick to go on a tour through the mangrove swamps. We left from the small town(?) of Playa Maratan-chen, which is reached by a well marked, gravel road turning off the San Blas road (right when leaving San Blas, the 1st turnoff after the Bridge to the island.) Almost immediately we saw a small assemblage of zebras. Small black dragonflies flew along side the boat, and we saw a beautiful black helicon with red wing-tips and yellow wing bands. We started off through thick mangrove swamp, where almost no sunlight penetrated. Mangrove was the main plant seen, but a low iris-banana like plant grew in the water. On the mangroves grew small narrow leaved bromeliads and polypores. We collected some polypores, but they did not seem to be effect. Every now and then in the mangrove
