Aug 17, 1960 Thamnophis elegans vagrans spaces, in two rows between the stripes; a small parietal spot; venter pale gray (2), centrally fused with purplish-brown (1), which expands to cover nearly all of belly on tail and anal region; chin very pale gray (gray white); eye conspicuous, reddish-brown. A gray snake.
