Dada, D. 1981 Journal Mexico Oct. 28 Along Hwy. 120 at Paredon Sta. Manteca , 6.3 km. by rd. SW El Solo (3.4 km. SW El Modeno), Queretaro, Mexico , 1590 m. On one large sinkhole Dton found one C. magnipes . It was dark, almost bluish-gray. These animals are known to have very delicate skin, and the right rear leg of this specimen lost its skin during collection. The skin actually appears almost dry. This delicacy suggests to me that this species may indeed be purely cave dwelling. It would seem that it would injure itself out and about in vegetation. A histological study of the skin would be important and interesting. We explored several other sinkholes in the area. Many were promising as far as moist cracks, etc., but produced no animals.
