Oct. 26 Up at ~6:30 and ate at the Hotel El Ranchito. We drove south on Hwy 130 for several kms. just to see what this area looked like. We saw no more bromeliads past the town of Xiestepea, but made one stop. Station 1 9.2 km. N Xrestoepe, Puebla, Mexico, 975m This is off on a little side road marked with Pemex gas line signs. Just across from a one-room schoolhouse we found a few banana plants. I found two hybrid frogs in banana aside. We returned back west along 130 and stopped at a second place just on the other side of Xrestoepe and worked about 40 bromeliads in people's back yards, lasura, and gardens. Station 2 3.9 km. S.
