Oct. 24 in front of us. We felt our way back to the hotel, processed the animals, and went to eat. Ted is leaving tomorrow and taking some of the more critical things.
Oct. 25 Up at ~7:00 A. Ate breakfast at the same restaurant we had supper last night (about 1 km toward Jalapa from the Hotel Avion). Ted was to go home via Mexico City today. We drove west on Hwy. 140 to Zacatopas, went to Apizaco on Hwy. 136. On Apizaco we bid farewell to Ted Papenfuss who took a bus to Mexico City to catch his flight home to Berkeley. We continued north on Hwy. 119 and then went to Xcoitapue de Juáreo in the state of Puebla. Here we checked into a great hotel — the Mi Ranchito which also has a very good restaurant. Along today's route, we stopped twice to collect.
Station 1
Mex. Hwy. 119, 12.8 km. N Tlaxco, Tlaxcala, in Puebla, Mexico, 2780 m.
2 Chrisoptitor — possibly two different species. Chrisops never collected here before.
I found one small one in an embankment in wet dirt among rocks. It was very small.
