Oct.23 We returned to the hotel by about 7:00P. We ate at a place within walking distance just west of the hotel on the highway. Good food and good beer selection. Proceeded the animals by 9:30p.

Oct.24 Up at ~7:15A. Ate breakfast at the same place we had supper last night. We went into Jalapa to get gas and ice. We drove ENE on Mex. Hwy. 140 toward La Joya and past La Joya thru Las Vegas. Past Los Vegas a few km. (~10) is a turn-off to the left which goes up to a microwave station. We took this all the way to the top (~15km.). We collected from the top and worked our way down working the road embankments. We got several animals in this stretch of road. Oales and javers are here. Very rocky area. It rained a little while we
