Dada, D. 1981 Journal Mexico Oct. 21 in at ~3:00 P. Dave and Jim left to see Dick Vogt at the nearby Hopkins ecological station. Ted, Stan, and I stayed to cut a few paths thru the forest for lantern walking. Ted and I cut thru a creek bottom. After supper we returned with light, but found nothing. Stan found one Bolit. metacana, a beautiful animal - very active and with a yellow pattern on the dorsum. Several Basiliscus lizards were spotted also, Stan collected a couple. The metacana was found on a broad leaf of a plant. This is where they are normally found. Rufescens were found here before in relative abundance. Ted says that the rufescens tended to be on the leaves in the more open areas with metacana in the more densely vegetated areas. Vogt says that the wet season seems to be late this year, in fact, it is just starting. Usually wettest in September.
