Darden, D. 1981 Journal Mexico Oct. 17 sinkhole just about 50 ft. off the road to the right. We looked in the sinkhole which opens into a fairly large chamber (lig enough to hold 3-4 people and rather high). The condition's looked good - dripping water and many cracks and crevices. But no salamanders. This sinkhole has two entrances one is so small that one must squeeze thru. We went back in after dark with a dantern. Again, nothing. After emerging from the hole the first time in the afternoon, I heard something zip above my head. It was a bullet from a 22. The bullet hit a rock about six feet above Dave's head. Apparently some guy was hunting. We saw him after a few minutes and said hello. Just an accident. We returned to Oaxaca by ~ 10:00, to supper in town and turned in ~ 12:00,
