Danda,D. 1983 Journal 18 Dec. Mexico City. We arrived at the Hotel Don Francisco at ~ 12:00 and checked in. We tried to return the van, but found Ramona Rent-a-Car closed on Sunday. We [illegible] checked the suitcases and packed things. We then spent the afternoon and evening Xmas shopping, had dinner, and turned in. 19 Dec. Up at ~ 7:00, breakfast at the hotel, and called Ramona. They came to the Hotel Don Francisco at ~ 9:30 and picked up the van. No trouble, they reimbursed me for the fuel pump and took my VISA card. We spent a couple more hours shopping and then took a cab to the airport. Traffic was bad, but we arrived with plenty of time to spare and checked in. The gophers went thru the X-ray machine unnoticed. The flight stopped at Manatlan where we paid the airport tax. We arrived at SFO on schedule. No problems with customs - they didn't even look inside anything! Jim Patton met me and we were [illegible]! A good trip!
