1983 Journal 14 Dec. Fortin to Popocatepetl Up early ~7:00 and into Orizaba to eat breakfast at the Hotel de France and to look for a gift for Miguel for his hospitality. We decided on a bottle of Scotch from Scotland - Poasport. I hate scotch and don't know if Miguel and family drink it, but it looked impressive, and that should please them. We spent about an hour with the Comisa in Cuatlapan. We took a live lizard, live snake, and several preserved animals for transport to John Wright. The lizard appears to be an amodo with double, although the Comiso told Wright it was an Albanois. The snake is Petrophili - like, and the preserved array consists of two toads, several small snakes, and another animal (?). We then headed west toward one of Patty's gecko localities in Boca del Mante a very small village just into Puebla near the old small , but bigger, town of Esperanza. Daylen proved scarce after several local boys gave us a tour of pine gecko habitat. Patty decided we should return to her Popocatepetl locality. We drove to Amecameca.
