Zacapoxtla to Altotonga
Up early, ~6:30 and headed north to
work the road toward Tetela. We turned
into the road and went several (~10) km.
before finding the road impassable with
the VW van. We turned around and worked
a spot near the main road (1.1 km). This
road W toward Tetela begins about 1km. S
of the small town of Apalco. Stan Davies
and I made it thru to Tetela from here
dear last Augst. The road seems to have
deteriorated and is wetter. Slide mud
prevented our progress this time. Patty
and I worked about 50 lronmelades near
a stream and the road. We got two
ardensis-like Chigros. In our first two
ironmelads, There were large ones, 3 cutter
section's high, and on a side drain extending
over the road. After about 1/2 hrs we
drove on to Apalco where we worked along
a path behind what appears to be an old
jail or monastery. We found a good level of
about 25 ironmelades, but no animals.
