Dada, D. 1983 Journal 27 Nov. Comtan to San Cristobal Up at 7:00, took care of anuide, eat breakfast, and wrote a few letters. Due and this inflated and out of town toward San Cristobal by 10:00. We stopped ~58.7 km NW of Comtan to work for B. lartwegi - no salamanders, but no anude, probably a Deophli. Very dry, 1870 m, vale. Branchiade dusty-dry. Just SE of San Cristobal we turned NE on the road to Tenajapa. We stopped ~21.4 km up this road at a roadside wet with water. Very promising wet logs, but no salamanders in ~1 1/2 hours of walk. Karen got 1 Thamnophis, 2 anuide, and 2 andes. Centered toward Tenajapa and made no more stop. No luck. Many indian people in their traditional dress. The people here don't seem very friendly. Met a man and woman along the road begging me for food or drink. Drive thru the town of Tenajapa with people shouting at me to stop. Very uncomfortable. We drove into San Cristobal at ~3:00 and started a couple of anudes and brought branchiade, slute, branchiade, arctholide, and jolte
