Dado, D. 1983 Journal 26 Nov. Lago Montebello to Camitan Up ~7:00, breakfast at the "hotel". Drove beyond (E) Iztaccar and worked two areas. The first, Dos Lagos, was okay as far as ground cover, but no luck. Beyond this the area has been cleared and is probably illegal private property. We found some doradas, good red ore, but worked them to no avail. Discouragement set in. We had talked earlier to Victor Mauricio Hernandez in Iztaccar. Ted Papequias had left him a jar of powder in which to keep salamanders, this in 1976. He remembered Ted and the jar but had no salamanders. He described 3 classes of "niños" in the area - one red, one black, and one coffee colored (?). Ted had noted this older in 1976. We offered him pesos for salamanders and said we would return at ~5:00. We searched the area around Lago Montebello itself in early afternoon, again no luck.
