A very beautiful place, one of solitude. We then returned to the lab where Patty was down the geodes collection in the manual room. A grad student who has been studying in Michigan showed me these specimens - Victor Sanchez-Dorfer. We stopped in to visit Hugh Drummond, a friend of Harry Breano's, but he wasn't in. We said goodbye to Dr. Cesare and were down to the Metro by Franco. The metro is only 1 year! A very good way to travel in the city - clean, fast, and well marked. Franco is interested in coming to Berkeley to study, and we talked to him about that. We got off downtown. The Metro station was very crowded, and as the people rushed into our car, we had to fight our way out. Patty was swept down into the car and had to pull herself out. We rode a map after the long day. We eat dinner and returned to the hotel to write.
