From the permit office we took a long taxi ride to the Universidad Nacional Autonoma Mexico (UNAM) to visit Dr. Drutero Casas who had written me a letter of support for my permit application. He was out of the office when we arrived, but two of his students were in the lab. Reynaldo Martinez-Deac and Francisco R. Mendez de la Cruz. Francisco spoke zero English, and they were both very friendly. They were preparing a summary of the large collection to be presented at an upcoming meeting in Jalapa. We left to walk around campus a bit. We returned at ~1:00 P. to find Dr. Casas in. He greeted me and offered me coffee. We discussed a project on Dielognus systematic he is working on. [illegible] He then showed me the files and specimens of Chiopetastri. They have very few Chiops - quite a few Chioptrone, a few Dondataga (~10), and ~3 multidentatus. They have surprisingly few pletodactile overall - on small case, about 25
