Landa, D 1982 Journal Mexico Sept. 4 Rough Totals: total animals - 241 total salamanders - 215 Chiapendulatus - 136 C. savae - 75 Sept. 5 Left Pachuca mid-morning and drove into Mexico City - about a 2 hr. drive. We went to the airport and got rid of the rental car. The Datsun 160J was an excellent car. No problems during the whole trip of ~3000 km, including some terrible roads. Only used 1 liter of oil. It is just fine for two people, as the cooler wouldn't fit into the trunk and I took up the whole back seat. We then took a taxi into the centro and checked into the Hotel San Francisco - very convenient to downtown. Sept. 6 Arranged and packed everything to return. Animals packed with ice. We then went to Chapultepec Park to visit the Museum of Anthropology, but found it to be closed on Mondays. We spent the rest of the day shopping for gifts. We took a taxi to the airport
