Darda, D. 1982 Journal Mexico Sept. 4 DD 364 up at our second stop, we found 1 Chiropterotriton diminutius under some bark on a fallen log. This is true to the trend = diminutius and no multidentatus . It used to be the opposite, and actually it was no problem to collect large numbers of both according to Star, Wake, and others. We recorded ~ 2 hrs. total today with just the 1 salamander to show. We decided to forget El Chico and return N to the Tranquilitos region . We were there yesterday, but we were both still recovering from being sick and didn't spend much time searching. One wonders about El Chico - has there been an extended dry period, has it been overcollected? It proved to be a good decision - returning to Tranquilitos . At a locality ~ 4.3 km. E of the junction of Hwy 105 and the old road to Tranquilitos (~ 10.7 km. out of Tranqui) we got 3 alvarezi, 3 Chiropterotriton diminutius (?) and 8 Chiropterotriton andrews (DD 365-378). All were
