Sunday D. 1982 Journal Mexico Aug. 30 We took the road between Zacapaxtle and Chignahhuapan today. This road runs east-west and is gravel and dirt from its eastern origin ~ 3km, N of Apulec to Tetela de Ocampo (~47km.) and is blacktop from Tetela west to its intersection with Hwy. 119 N of Tlaxco (42,3km.). A total distance of ~ 90 km. The gravel/dirt portion is quite rough in places, and is slow going. We stopped at three places to collect. The first was ~ 5 km. from the eastern origin. We cut down several lroniade (~15) along the side of a deep gorge. We got 1 Chiapsteriten and 1 frog. The ironiaide looked good. The chiap, had quite large feet and appeared to be too to be arboreus-like. I've not seen arboreus. The frog is peculiar looking to me, but we know little about frogs. Probably a hybrid. The second stop was ~3 km. west of the first. It was a salamander collectors dream-- many large ironiade, many downed trees, and nice and wet. Unfortunately, no salamanders! It seems as if
