Parada, D. 1982 Journal Mexico Aug. 29 Another explorative day. First, we hiked up a mountain west of Tzuitlan. It can be seen to the north of the road while driving out of Tzuitlan toward the west. We pulled off the road a short distance past the small town of Chignautla, and walked north thru corn fields and to the foot of the hill. We proceeded up. We hiked up to the top (along the ridge). There was little to turn, not very good. At the top we found a few Phrynosoma and Iguanas. We collected a few for Kent Edwards. We descended down the other side and encountered lumbering and an area with large pine trees and a few things to turn. No calamanderes! We reached the road and had to walk ~ 4 hrs. back to the car. We thought we'd never get there. Amazing how easy it is to near a little near the road and be so far off after descending. We saw no Crenulidae in the area. The top was 2375m. elev.
