Journal Flying Salamander Aug 28 Chicks were there (Chingapetun larvae). We had only wanted the green 'loana' and belli. We quickly spread some gas around and got out of there with lives and our lives. Driving down the road, I was picking crickets out of a bag of loanae. I threw a cricket out of the window, and I saw a salamander flying thru the air! I had accidentally thrown a loana out with the cricket!! Stan pulled over and I ran back to pick it up off the road. Luckily no car had flattened it and it was making its way into the other lane. Salamanders can survive if thrown out of a car window at 40MPH! We found a hotel just beyond the small town of Tetela which is several km west of Tequitlan. The turn off for the Hotel Castilla is 0.4 km west of the intersection to Huayapan in Tetela. It is a small family-run hotel with single rooms and shared baths. Cheap. We then drove the road to Huayapan
